IMO Assembly Resolutions
The IMO Resolutions database contains
recommendations and codes that have been formally adopted by IMO's governing
body, the Assembly, in the form of resolutions. The resolutions (965 to
date) are published in book form after each session of the Assembly.
The 23 printed volumes, comprising oveer 5,500 pages of text, diagrams and
photographs, have been set in version 6.0 so that the relevant texts can be
found by subject category, year, session and number.
Version 6.0 of the database contains all Assembly resolutions from the 1st
Assembly (1959) to the 23rd (2003) in English. A linking system is available
so that the user can easily move from one resolution to anothr that has
revoked it. The database contains images of the original printed pages of
all resolutions, which cna be displayed on screen and printed.

International Ship & Port
Security (ISPS) Code
This is the multi-lingual
(English/French/Spanish) edition of the ISPS CODE ON CD-ROM (Version 1.0),
2003
The International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) was
adopted by a Conference of Contracting Governments to the International
Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), 1974 convened in London
from 9 to 13 September 2002.
This CD-ROM includes the ISPS Code, relevant amendments to the SOLAS
Convention and other resolutions of the Conference realting to work that
must be completed before the Code can be implemented in 2004, revision of
the Code, technical co-operation and co-operative work with the
International Labour Organization and the World Customs Organization.

IMO - GMDSS Handbook
The entry into force and implementation of the
global maritime distress and safety system (GMDSS) between 1992 and 1999 was
the most far-reaching development in maritime emergency assistance since the
invention of the radio.
The GMDSS Handbook presents the principles on which the GMDSS is based, the
requirements for its implementation, the standards to be met by GMDSS
equipment, and the method of operation of the various radio services which
make up the GMDSS.
The Handbook is divided into eight sections and several substantial annexes:

the GMDSS, including its history and development

of the GMDSS

communications systems within the GMDSS

IMO MARPOL (V 2.1)
This is the multilingual (English, French
and Spanish) edition of MARPOL ON CD-ROM (Version 2.1) 2003
The International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships,
1973, as modified by the Protocol of 1978 relating thereto (better known as
MARPOL 73/78), is one of the most important international agreements on the
subject of marine pollution. Six Annexes, numbered I(Oil), II (Noxious
Liquid Substances in Bulk), III (Harmful Substances in Packaged Form), IV
(Sewage), V (Garbage) and VI (Air Pollution) provide detailed regulations
covering the various sources of ship-generated pollution.
This CD-ROM provides a consolidated text of the Convention, its Protocols
and its Annexes, including all amendments adopted up to the end of 2001.
As well as unified interpretations of certain regulations of the Annexes,
several related texts are also included:

Assessment of Liquids Transported in Bulk

IAMSAR Manual
The IAMSAR Manual on CD-ROM includes all
three volumes and incorporates the 2001, 2002 and 2003 amendments to all
volumes in English.
Jointly published by IMO and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO),
the International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue (IAMSAR)
Manual is designed to assist States in meeting their own search and rescue
(SAR) needs, as well as the obligations they accepted under the Convention
on International Civil Aviation, the International Convention on Maritime
Search and Rescue and the International Convention for the Safety of Life at
Sea. It provides guidelines for a common aviation and maritime approach to
organizing and providing SAR services.
The printed version of the Manual is divided into three volumes, each of
which is written with specific SAR duties in mind. Taken together, they
provide a comprehensive view of the SAR system.
* Organization and Management (volume I) discusses the global SAR system
concept, establishment and improvement of national and regional SAR systems
and co-operation with neighbouring States to provide effective and
economical SAR services
* Mission Co-ordination (volume II) assists personnel who plan and
co-ordinate SAR operations and exercises
* Mobile Facilities (volume III) is intended to be carried aboard rescue
units, aircraft and vessels to help with performance of a search, rescue or
on-scene co-ordinator function, and with aspects of SAR that pertain to
their own emergencies

STCW
The International Convention on Standards
of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping of Seafarers (STCW), 1978
provides the legal framwork within which global minimum standards of
knowledge, understanding, experience and professional competence of
seafarers may be achieved.
The Seafarers's Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Code
contains both mandatory technical standards and non-mandatory guidance for
the use of those involved in educating, training or assessing the competence
of seafarers or who are otherwise involved in applying the provisions of the
STCW Convention.
STCW on CD-ROM contains the full texts of the STCW Convention and STCW Code
as amended in 1995, 1998 and 2001, as well as several related resolutions
and circulars, in English, French and Spanish.
