1) Click on the [Start] button, go to [All Programs],
[Accessories], [Communications], and select [New Connection Wizard].
2) If this is the first time you've set up a dial-up account,
a [Location Information] screen will appear (if not, skip to step 5). Fill out the
information on this screen accordingly. If in doubt, just fill in your area code
3) Click [OK].
4) On the [Phone and Modem Options] screen, click [OK].
5) On the [New Connection Wizard] screen, click [Next].
6) Select [Connect to the Internet].
7) Click [Next].
8) Select [Setup my connection manually].
9) Click [Next].
10) Select [Connect using a dial-up modem].
11) Click [Next].
12) In the field labeled [ISP Name], type in "TheNet".
13) Click [Next].
14) In the field labeled [Phone Number:], enter your theneti
dial-up no.
15) Click [Next].
16) In the field labeled [User name:], enter your theneti account
name
17) In the field labeled [Password:], enter your password.
18) In the field labeled [Confirm Password:], enter your password again.
19) Click [Next].
20) If you'd like a shortcut added to your desktop, click [Add a
shortcut to this connection to my desktop] and click [Finish].
21) Click [Start], go to [Connect To], and select [TheNet]. (You
can also double-click the [TheNet] icon on your desktop if you chose to add it.)
*NOTE: On the [General] tab that appears next, you must check [Use dialing
rules] if you have to dial a number to access an outside line, have call waiting disabled,
need to dial long distance, or have a calling card set up.
22) Click [Dial] to connect.
